I used to kick with my dad

“Hi, I’m Laura from Frankenburg, Austria. I have been playing football since I was 4 years old. At home my dad kicked with me, he was also my first coach. When I was 5 years old I joined a football club. For a long time I only played with boys. My father had a strong influence on my football career. What’s important to me in my life is honesty and appreciating what I have”.

I have always only played football

“Everyone in my family, except my mama, is crazy about football. I have never played any other sport in my life. I got the contact to my current club through Nicole Billa. Since 2018 I have been playing in the German national women’s football team. Football means everything to me – I have subordinated my whole life to it.”

Honesty in women’s football is important to me

“I hope to play for a very long time to come. In return, I’m willing to accept the sacrifices associated with competitive sport. After my voluntary social year I want to study, to have a second foothold is very important to me. We girls don’t earn much in our sport at the moment. For women’s football, I would like to see fewer comparisons with men’s football – and that we remain honest.”
